Christmas Cantata Free Concert - image

CKNW invites you to see the Christmas Cantata at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre October 3rd!

The Gracias Choir will stage the Christmas Cantata, a soul-healing production of musical, opera and classical performances, in a tour of 25 North American cities within 29 days. Entry and viewing are free for all in a firstcome-first-seated basis. The first performance will be held in Vancouver on October 3rd at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre The United States is facing dark times of despair, sadness and worries in an increasingly device-oriented, competitive, and contentious modern society. In much the same way light overcomes darkness, this heart soothing choir shines a light through music, and grabs the attention of all who listen.

Every September, the Gracias Choir gifts the people of America with the ‘Christmas Cantata’ U.S. Tour, and for the first time they are bringing their gift of music to Canada! Playing in Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre October 3rd!

The Choir has condensed the many meanings of Christmas into three acts. One can listen to beautiful classical
music through the 1st act, an Opera scene (The Nativity), then a special performance by the Little Santas,
followed by the 2nd Act, a musical production (The Little Match Girl), and the 3rd act, a choral stage (selections from Handel’s Oratorio the ‘Messiah’).

There are many singers in this world. There are those who sing to boast of themselves, but there are also those who wholly sing for others. There is no trace of “self” in the hearts of each and every member of the Gracias Choir.

Songs fill their hearts instead. They deliver clean and pure music, that isn’t heard by just your ears, but also your heart and soul. It moves you. Audiences who’ve heard the Choir praise their music as that of “angels
on Earth”.
