Build Your Own Bat House - image

Assemble your very own bat house at this fun family workshop! Bats are underrated. Besides being the only mammal that flies, most North American bats are nocturnal insectivores, which means they feed on night-flying insects – especially mosquitoes. Encouraging bats to nest near your house is a natural way to keep your yard bug-free. Supplies will be provided. No cutting, only assembly. Bring your own hammer and a cordless screwdriver with Robertson (medium bit) and Phillips bits. If you don’t have these tools, tell us at the time of registration and we will try to arrange some for you. Please register only if you have somewhere to place your bat house. Attendance is limited to 10 households. Pre-registration by Sunday June 11 is required to secure a bat house kit. Cost: $10.00 – includes materials for one bat house. This is a non-refundable fee to cover the cost of materials. One bat house per household.
