Spring Salmon Eggs-travaganza! Spring is a time for new beginnings for many animals—and salmon are no exception. After spending 3 to 4 months developing inside their eggs, many species of salmon are now hatching and preparing for their journey. Discover the challenges salmon face and learn how you can support their survival! From April 3 to 5, visit the FRDC for a splash of fun with salmon-themed activities and games. Learn all about these incredible fish and the challenges they face after hatching. We hope you’ll hop in and celebrate spring with us! WHAT: – 10:00am – 12:00pm: Conduct a water test in the Fraser River to see how water quality affects salmon. – 1:00pm – 3:00pm: Learn about the salmon life cycle. Then design your own fish ladder baffles to help salmon move past barriers in rivers. WHEN: – April 3rd – 5th, 10:00am – 4:00pm WHERE: Fraser River Discovery Centre, 788 Quayside Drive, New Westminster, BC COST: Includes admission to the Discovery Centre.
