On April 21, 2026, the community is invited to gather for Beyond Wellness: Authenticity, Belonging, and Care, an inaugural physician-led speaker event exploring a more human and collective understanding of health. Hosted by Dr. Maryam Zeineddin of Zili CARE, the intimate evening will take place at the Arts Club Theatre Company – Granville Island Stage. The event brings together physicians, health champions, and community leaders for thoughtful conversation centred on belonging, authenticity, care, and the systems that shape wellbeing. The program will feature an intimate conversation with renowned Canadian physician and author Gabor Maté, followed by a panel of respected voices in health and community care, including Dr. Renee Fernandez (Chief Medical Officer, BC Family Doctors), Dr. Melissa Lem (Co-Founder, PaRx), Dr. Mark Sherman (Founder, BC Association for Living Mindfully – BCALM), Claudia Chirico (Founder, Bloom Energy Therapy), and Sonja Foley (Co-Founder, Maturn). The evening will be emceed by Sonia Sunger of Global BC Morning News.
