One Box: Vancouver Book Tour

Join us for an unforgettable afternoon with the creators of One Box—a heartwarming story of love, family, and the power of giving. Named one of CBC Books’ “Top Kids’ Books to Read for Fall 2024,” One Box beautifully captures the Filipino tradition of sending balikbayan boxes, filled with gifts and love, to family back home in the Philippines. Here’s what to expect: *Live reading of One Box with Andi and Allan—meet them and get your book signed! *A unique chocolate-decorating session with Kasama Chocolate *Family-friendly activities (for all ages, even “kids at heart”) including creating your own mini balikbayan box *Complimentary refreshments The chance to give back with the Tondo Arts Initiative, supporting young Filipino artists in Manila (founded by artist Harvey Nichol) The event is free, with the option to pre-purchase One Box (gift idea alert!). We ask that attendees bring an item to donate to the Tondo Arts Initiative (TAI), an initiative created by artist Harvey Nichol—art supplies, beading kits, or anything that inspires creativity and togetherness. For many children in Tondo, creative materials like paints, markers, and beads are luxuries they can’t access. Your donations will provide them with a chance to create, dream, and grow through art.
