Tweed & Co is delighted to bring this Broadway smash success to Hastings county. It’s an irresistible tale of rock n’ roll, stardom, broken promises, secrets, betrayal, and celebrations that will tug at your heart strings. This Tony-nominated production is one of the most sought after musicals in North America – and it’s guaranteed to be the entertainment highlight of the season.

The cast includes professional actors and musicians from across the country. Playing Carl Perkins is Sheridan musical theatre grad Griffin Hewitt, and the Stratford Festival’s Jacob James will bring Sam Phillips to life. Alex Smith is coming aboard as Johnny Cash, Shaemus Swets will play Jerry Lee Lewis, and Daniel Verdecchia will appear as Fluke. Jay Perkins will be played by Summer Kodama, who audiences may remember from last summer’s hit, Both Sides Now. Other familiar Tweed & Co performers include Liam Lynch as Elvis Presley, and Jessica Wilson as Elvis’s girlfriend, Dyanne, (Jessica played the Narrator in last summer’s popular run of Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat).

Also returning from Joseph is Phil Nero, who will again direct and also choreograph this mega production. An accomplished director and performer, Phil has performed and toured across the US and Canada in major shows including The Lion King, Mamma Mia, and beyond. He’s worked at the Stratford Festival, in London’s West End, and is the co-owner of Toronto’s Metro Movement Dance Studio. Musical direction will be by

Drayton Entertainment veteran Peter Aylin, and Tracy Lynne Cann will be returning to stage manage.

The creative team will also include Jennifer Wilson as the assistant stage manager, Alaynah deKleine as the technical director, sound, and lighting designer, Mary Williams as the scenic painter and production assistant, and Jocelyn Perry as costume designer.

Tickets are already selling at lightning speed – in fact, the company has already had to add an additional performance to the run in Tweed. It’s highly advised to purchase your tickets as early as possible to guarantee that you’ll catch this spectacle!
