Ahreum Lee will be presenting her media artworks Gui, the Ghost, Bun Shin Sa Ba, Multiple Selves, and her early video works. The ART-Talks will be informal and open roundtable talks to discuss the Asian arts landscape with a focus group composed of artists and professionals, as well as the public (RSVP). ART-Talks offer an opportunity to foster dialogue on issues and perspectives concerning Asian Canadian arts, and artists of today and tomorrow.

Ahreum Lee is a multimedia artist and musician from Seoul, South Korea. She is currently pursuing her MFA at Concordia University. Working primarily through the medium of sound, her work examines the feedback loop caused by the codependent relationship between the individual and society. As the frontwoman and founding member of experimental rock band Juck Juck Grunzie, she produced three records and toured internationally before expanding her practice to multimedia installation work.

The 11th KFFC is supported by Social Science and Humanity Research Councils in partnership with the Sociability of Sleep Project of the Moving Image Research Lab (MIRL) at McGill University, Centre d’études asiatiques (CÉTASE: Asian studies center) of l’Université de Montréal, Ada X, Dazibao, Cinéma Moderne, and many of the Korean community groups in Montréal.
