Sex stories and mousetraps. First kisses and jalapenos. Dark secrets and make-overs by blindfolded audience members. What do these have in common? They're all part of "Truth of Dare", a new late night show at Instant Theatre. Audience questions will prompt honest confessions and inspire scenes from our improvisers. OR we might dare them to a high-risk game, challenge them to eat a whole lemon by the end of a scene, or play blindfolded and barefoot on a stage covered in live mousetraps. Come for the dares. Fall in love with the secrets.

Vancouver TheatreSports’™ improvisers will demonstrate their lightning fast wit as they play the ‘Hosts’ to our audience ‘Guests’ in Western World – an improvised parody inspired by the popular TV series Westworld. Opens April 6 and runs through to May 13, 2017 Each night features a totally new ‘episode’ under the watchful eye and guiding mind of Robert (sometimes Roberta) Ford. Guests begin their Western World adventure with an orientation. “Who are these hosts? What roles do they play?” are just some of the many questions that only VTSL’s esteemed Guests can answer. Throughout the show Guests help craft the storyline that becomes the basis for the second half of the show. In this artificial world of improvised comedy anything can, and will, happen. If things get too out of hand, Ford can always step in with “Stop all motor functions” and hit the reset button. Even if you have never seen Westworld, VTSL’s Western World will be filled with enough western movie clichés and quick-thinking action to ensure an evening of ‘laughs without limits.’

Audio/Video is improv inspired by the worlds of film and music. Improvised films? Got it. Extreme close ups? Totally. Sing alongs? Better believe it. If there is a such a thing as too much entertainment in one show, it would be this one. Audio/Video draws inspiration from movies, suggested Youtube videos, or other prerecorded sketches to improvise a great show. When hilarious video and fantastic improv collide, you're going to get some amazing results.

Instant Theatre is proud to present Talk Felty To Me - a night of explosively sexy/gratuitous/over-the-top improvised comedy that we just couldn't show you on stage - unless we "did it" with puppets! This loop isn't the only hole we've found - or filled! Talk Felty to Me is the latest in late night entertainment from the producers of Shakespeare After Dark and Truth or Dare. This new monthly show features puppets like, "The Bush", "Monster with no chest fur", and "Stick 'o' Butter". Join us to find just how deep the puppet hole goes.* *It's deep. When music starts to play, anything can happen: a touching love song, a wild dance number, or a high-wire rap battle. CKNW is proud to support the advance screening of Bon Cop Bad Cop 2! Eight years have passed since Martin Ward and David Bouchard met in a spectacular way on the Quebec/Ontario border. The two men have remained friends, but time takes its toll and they have not spoken in almost a year. In this second chapter, Ward and Bouchard must face an important car theft ring that turns out to be a lot more than they bargained for. Enemies will prove to be the ones we did not expect and Ward and Bouchard will discover that life goes on and lots of things change, while some just… remain the same.
