HOT JAZZ JAM feat. Phoenix FourTo kick off April, join HOT JAZZ JAM feat. PHOENIX FOUR for a night of LIVE hot NOLA jazz & ridiculously fun dancing! The Phoenix Four are a group which go back to the days of the Vancouver Hot Jazz Club in the 80’s. Back then they were known as the Phoenix Jazzers and were a six-piece band modelled on the so-called British Trad sound from the jazz revival of the 1950’s. They were the “house band” at Hot Jazz for several years and played at practically every jazz festival up and down the west coast. The Hot Jazz Club is, alas, no longer with us and over the years musicians have come and gone so that all that remains is the four-piece you will see at HOT JAZZ JAM. They are Jim Armstrong on trumpet and trombone, Gerry Green on clarinet and tenor sax, (Jim and Gerry are the only original members left from the Phoenix Jazzers), Arnt Arntzen on banjo, and Casey Tolhurst on bass. And you are guaranteed an evening of fun music! **HOT JAZZ JAM Mondays** **Doors at 8 w/ dance lesson. Live Hot Jazz at 9pm** **$12 Cover. 19+ Venue.** Musical guests are always welcome to jam! Please spread the word to jazz lovers and dancers alike as we bring weekly LIVE hot jazz to HOT JAZZ JAM. https://www.facebook.com/VancityHotJazzJam/ for details. fbook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1760392547433781/MusicApr 3 - Apr 4

Western WorldVancouver TheatreSports’™ improvisers will demonstrate their lightning fast wit as they play the ‘Hosts’ to our audience ‘Guests’ in Western World – an improvised parody inspired by the popular TV series Westworld. Opens April 6 and runs through to May 13, 2017 Each night features a totally new ‘episode’ under the watchful eye and guiding mind of Robert (sometimes Roberta) Ford. Guests begin their Western World adventure with an orientation. “Who are these hosts? What roles do they play?” are just some of the many questions that only VTSL’s esteemed Guests can answer. Throughout the show Guests help craft the storyline that becomes the basis for the second half of the show. In this artificial world of improvised comedy anything can, and will, happen. If things get too out of hand, Ford can always step in with “Stop all motor functions” and hit the reset button. Even if you have never seen Westworld, VTSL’s Western World will be filled with enough western movie clichés and quick-thinking action to ensure an evening of ‘laughs without limits.’ComedyApr 6 - May 13
