Lisa Fiset
Managing Editor
Lisa Fiset graduated from Concordia University in 1999 with a BA in Sociology and a Minor in French studies. She got her Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Concordia in 2001.
She started her journalism career as an intern at Global News in 2001, going on to work as a reporter for 940 News Radio from 2002-2008.
In her 13 years as a journalist, Lisa has had the privilege to cover many stories, including the 2006 shooting at Dawson College, the De La Concorde overpass collapse, as well as many criminal trials, municipal, provincial and federal elections.
Lisa returned to the Global family in 2008 as a freelance reporter. In 2012, Lisa became the station’s managing editor, producing the evening news.

Professional a-ha moment: Two weeks after the Dawson shooting, I was sitting on my couch watching TV when the realization of what I had seen/covered/reported on hit me. It was a moment that has stuck with me since. I learned early on in my career to try not to let the events I cover affect me, but Dawson was one that struck hard. I will never forget talking to students as they were running out of the school, hearing gunshots and hiding behind a car with a police officer, waiting for the all-clear to be given.
Words of wisdom I always share with interns: Always dress for the weather — no matter how unflattering that may look. Better to be warm and dry than soaked and miserable!
Most interesting thing about being a journalist: The people you get to meet and the stories you get to share.
