WATCH: Parking on WFN land can be costly

KELOWNA — A Kelowna man is issuing a warning after being fined for trespassing on Westbank First Nations land.

A few weeks ago, Bruce Oryezuk parked his vehicle on a sideroad off McCullough Road.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

When he returned, he found a $125 ticket on his windshield.

Oryezuk fought the ticket, arguing there wasn’t adequate signage indicating he was on band land.

He lost the challenge which cost him an additional $40.
