TORONTO — Actress Lea Michele took to Twitter on Monday to thank the public for supporting her as she copes with the death earlier this month of her boyfriend and co-star Cory Monteith.
“Thank you all for helping me through this time,” she tweeted, “with your enormous love & support.”
Linking to a photo of the couple smiling and embracing, Michele added: “Cory will forever be in my heart.”
The tweet to her 3.5 million followers is the first public comment from the Glee star since Monteith’s fatal overdose in a Vancouver hotel room on July 13.
Michele, 26, hadn’t tweeted since the day before Monteith’s death.
She and the Canadian actor had dated for more than a year. According to reports, Monteith was set to move into her Los Angeles home after his stay in Vancouver.
