A funnel cloud appeared over south Winnipeg on Wednesday afternoon.
The cloud, often a sign of impending tornado activity, appeared to be near south Perimeter Highway in the St. Norbert area.
Environment Canada storm chaser Dave Carlsen confirmed to Global News the funnel cloud appeared shortly before 2 p.m.
A tornado warning was in effect for the RM of Ritchot. Îles-des-Chênes was considered most at risk, according to Environment Canada.
Witnesses said there were two funnel clouds in the same area but this wasn’t immediately confirmed.
