TORONTO – Ice dancing duo Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir are getting their own six-part TV special.
W Network says it is commissioning a short-run series that will follow the Olympic gold medal winners and air right before the Sochi Olympics.
The 30-minute Tessa & Scott will go into production this summer and is scheduled to debut Jan. 2, 2014.
The network promises to delve into the pair’s day-to-day lives as they seek a second gold medal at the 2014 Winter Games in Russia.
The 24-year-old Virtue and 25-year-old Moir have skated together since 1997.
In 2006, they became the first Canadian ice dancers to win gold at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships. Since then, they’ve also collected gold at the 2010 Olympic Games and at the 2010 and 2012 World Figure Skating Championships.
