Could this be the world’s most famous door?

Britain and the world waited for news of the royal heir Monday, after Prince William’s wife, Kate, checked into the private wing of a central London hospital and palace officials announced that she was in labour.

Police are standing guard at the door, continually shooing away royal gawkers. Media outlets have their cameras trained squarely on the door as once the first born of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrives, an aide to the royal family will emerge with a bulletin.

The bulletin will then be given to an official who will be driven to Buckingham Palace, where it will be posted on an easel in public view in front of the building.

The door itself has a Twitter account, but to the dismay of many royal watchers, the tweets have been sparse.
