TORONTO- Police are seeking assistance in their continuing investigation on human remains found in the Humber Boulevard area on May 24, 2013.
The victim has been identified as Rigat Ghirmay, 28, from Toronto.
She was a permanent resident in Canada.
Police are looking for anybody that knew the victim as well as the accused, Adonay Zekarias, 41.
Zekarias has been charged with indignity to a body.
The accused does not appear to have any relatives or friends in the area other than the deceased.
They say the two were acquaintances and at one point lived together.
Police are also looking for anyone who has seen a black and green “Tracker” bag being transported in the Humber Boulevard area over the past two weeks.
This is the bag that police obtained with partial remains of Ghirmay.
Police have additional video evidence of another piece of luggage that appears to contain more remains being moved in the victims apartment building. That bag was later found empty.
While the coroner has not yet determined the cause of death, police say there is a high likelihood charges against Zekarias will be upgraded to murder.
It is believed the deceased was last seen on the May 15, 2013 and the investigation began on May 24.
