More than 24 hours after a 36-year-old man was shot to death inside a home on English St., three suspects remain at large.

London Police have yet to identify the victim of Monday night’s shooting, and the only description of the suspects provided so far is minimal — two black men, and one white man, all in their early to mid-20s, believed to have fled the scene in a red, four-door pickup truck.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday at a home on English Street, just south of Lorne Ave.

“I came and looked out my peephole and couldn’t see anything… and then within moments, it was extremely fast, the street was full of police and ambulances and everything,” said a woman identified as Sari who lives next door.

“I think it’s unfortunate, I’m glad the scene is clear this morning and that kids, even my son, he’s not going to wake up having to ask what happened last night. It’s unfortunate that it happened, but of course it happened in the middle of the night when no kids were around.” she said, noting Lorne Ave Public School is just across the street.

Police have not commented on a motive, but said the shooting does not appear to have been a random incident.

“It is the kindest, safest feeling neighbourhood ever.” said Sari. “Things like this happen everywhere, it’s just unfortunate when it happens in Old East, people are like ‘oh it’s Old East’ but this is a safe, kind neighbourhood.”

This is London’s second homicide of the year, and second in as many weeks.

29-year-old James Willits died in hospital hours after being attacked inside his sixth floor apartment unit at 297 Baseline Road West on Monday, March 2nd. Police arrested a 30-year-old man on a charge of second degree murder that same day, but are still looking for 22-year-old Steven Barry Antone. He’s wanted on charges of second degree murder and robbery.
