Alexa Seary isn’t oblivious to the potential for jokes her name holds.
“It started off when my first manager at my [old] job called me ‘Siri’ all the time,” said Seary. “We’d talk through headphones and she would say, ‘Siri, come get the papers here,’ or ‘Siri, do that.’”
Siri is the popular personal assistant bot found on Apple products such as the iPhone or iPad.
The 21-year-old communications student and part-time server from New Jersey told Global News that she laughed it off. But when Amazon introduced their version of Siri, named Alexa, the jokes ramped up.
The jokes, once just a mild annoyance, became international headlines recently.
“Someone just told me they were talking about [me] on the Today Show!” she laughed.
But Seary is taking it all in stride; she even attempted to impersonate Siri for us.
