Partly cloudy skies started the day and a southerly wind kicked in late morning, which helped warm us up to -5 by noon.
We’re going to continue to warm up toward the freezing mark this afternoon as cloud cover builds back in.
Tonight
There is a good chance of freezing rain tonight as a warm front presses in and only allows temperatures to fall back to around -3 or so overnight.
A few millimetres of ice may form as it falls on a ground that is well below freezing.
Wednesday

We’ll warm up quickly through the day under mostly cloudy skies, allowing any ice that does form to melt with some sunny breaks possible midday as we climb up to a daytime high around +6.
Thursday-Friday
A low pressure system is set to slide through on Thursday that’ll bring with it a chance of mixed precipitation.
The day will begin with a chance of freezing rain early in the day as we start off just below freezing, transitioning to a rain risk as we warm up a few degrees above freezing for the first portion of the day.
A cold front will sweep through midday and drop temperatures below freezing, switching the precipitation type to snow for the afternoon and evening.
Sunshine returns for Friday, but it’ll be cool with temperatures back below freezing as a brief high pressure ridge passes by.
Weekend Outlook
We warm back up this weekend as an upper ridge of high pressure builds back in along with a low pressure system in Alberta with a kick of heat ahead of it.
Daytime highs both days are expected to be in mid-positive single digits under mostly cloudy skies on Saturday with some sunshine possible on Sunday and a chance of precipitation through the weekend.
