Surrey man accused of choking bus driver, stabbing passenger to be sentenced next year

A Surrey man charged in connection with two violent attacks on buses in Metro Vancouver will be sentenced January 8th.

On February 18, a bus driver was choked on a bus in Newton.

Three days later a bus passenger was stabbed when he was getting off the bus in Aldergrove.

20-year-old Steven Fayant was arrested at his home in Surrey.

He was denied bail and has been in jail since February.

Crown is seeking a three-and-a-half year sentence and ban on riding the bus.
