Fire guts mobile home at Calgary’s Chateau Estates

A fire in northeast Calgary has destroyed a mobile home.

Firefighters were called to Chateau Estates, located in the 1100 block of 84 Street N.E., at around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

When they arrived, crews found smoke coming from the rear of a home. They said the fire had made its way through an interior wall and into the attic.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control and extinguish it.

One person who was at home at the time was assessed by EMS for smoke inhalation but later released.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

It’s the second fire to happen at a Calgary mobile home park in the span of a week.

Crews were called to the Midfield Mobile Home Park on Wed. Dec. 7 after a fire broke out.

A man in the mobile home at the time was rescued by his neighbour.

He suffered some burns but was released from hospital after receiving treatment.
