2 charged after weapons, drugs, counterfeit cash seized from Edmonton home

Two people have been charged with a list of drugs and weapons-related offences after a property in Edmonton was searched late last month.

Strathcona County RCMP began an investigation in October in relation to stolen property and drug possession and on Nov. 24, Edmonton police assisted with a search warrant in Edmonton.

Several items were seized during the search, including a sawed-off shotgun, a semi-automatic sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, counterfeit $50 bills, 1.5 litres of suspected GHB and more than six grams of meth. A credit card scanner, mail box keys and stolen IDs were also seized by police.

RCMP have charged 30-year-old Kristyn Moore of Edmonton and 49-year-old James Whyte of Wainwright, with several offences, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, identity theft and possession of counterfeit money.

When police arrested Whyte, they said they seized several other items, including a loaded handgun, 15 litres of GHB, 1.4 grams of meth and a full patch Warlocks MC vest.

Moore and Whyte remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 7.
