Two pets die in Saskatoon house fire

Firefighters were able to save four dogs, but two other pets died in a Saskatoon house fire.

The fire happened Wednesday afternoon at the home located in the 200-block of Benesh Place.

Crews said they arrived to find smoke coming through windows and felt heat on the door.

The fire was located in the basement and quickly put out.

Firefighters found four dogs, a cat and a parrot during a search of the house.

Oxygen was used to revive the four dogs, however the cat and the parrot did not survive.

No one was home at the time.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
