On Friday, Mounties said they are no longer looking for a 30-year-old Edmonton woman – not seen since filing a complaint at an RCMP detachment 10 days ago – after receiving “credible information” she is safe and unharmed.
Police had been looking for Santana Lawrason-Hoybak since Oct. 4 after she used the after-hours phone at the Spruce Grove RCMP detachment to report she had been the victim of a violent crime.
Hoybak’s sister, Paris Lawrason, spoke to Global News earlier this week and said her family was “fearing the worst.”
On the same day Lawrason found out her sister was missing, she buried her brother, Christopher Lee Giroux, Edmonton’s 33rd homicide victim of 2016.
