As of Wednesday morning, 43,560 votes have been cast for this year’s municipal election.
The votes were done though advance polls, electronic (3,600) and via phone voting (39,960); the former is over, but the latter methods continue until 7 p.m. on Thursday.
In 2012, 66,272 votes were cast before the election, according to the municipal government.
“We have billboards, we have TV spots, we have radio, we have ads in the paper, we’re trying our best to get people out and get them informed how they can vote and the different ways as well,” said Kevin Arjoon, the returning officer for the municipality.
Information on how to vote is available on the government’s website.
Election day is October 15.
