NEAR VERNON, B.C. – It’s the oldest form of motorcycle racing and it’s experiencing a revival.
Flattrack B.C. is hosting it’s third annual provincial championships at O’Keefe Ranch near Vernon.
Motorcycles race four laps around an oval dirt track, drifting around corners, according to organizer Grant Robinson.
“They’ll come into a corner at really high speed.”
Flat track racers prefer vintage bikes.
“I got the old CZ here. I dug it out of the bushes and had it since I was a kid,” Steveston based racer Kim Anderson said.
Finals run 2:30 – 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Admission is $10 and is free to those under 16.
