As Day 7 of the Rio Olympics comes to an end, here’s what Team Canada will be up to on Saturday.
Here are some events to watch on Day 8 of competition at the Rio Games.
Rowing
Canada’s women’s eight rowing team will compete for a medal at 9 a.m. ET.
Beach volleyball
The two Canadian women’s teams play each other in a Canada vs. Canada preliminary match at 11 a.m. ET.
Swimming
Ryan Cochrane competes in the men’s 1500-metre freestyle final just after 9:00 p.m. ET.
And the medal-loaded Canadian women compete in the 4 x 100-metre medley relay at 9:45 p.m. ET. Canada’s team includes gold medal-winner and breakout star Penny Oleksiak, who will be looking to add to her considerable collection of hardware from these Games.
Track cycling
Women’s team pursuit heats start just after 10:00 a.m. ET. and the Canadian team is considered a medal hopeful. If they’re successful in the heats, finals start at 4:00 p.m. ET.
Athletics
One of the marquee events of the Summer Olympics, the men’s 100-metre sprint, begins on Saturday with preliminary heats at 8:30 a.m. ET. Look for sprinter Andre De Grasse, competing in his first Olympics.
