WINNIPEG — The relationship between drivers and cyclists in Manitoba shows some room for improvement according to a new study released Wednesday by State Farm. When Manitoba drivers were asked if they find cyclists to be an “annoyance” when driving, 44 per cent said yes.

And it seems the feeling is mutual. Of those who cycle on busy streets, 43 per cent find Manitoba drivers annoying too.

The study also showed Manitobans choose to ride their bikes on busy roads more than the Canadian average. Thirteen per cent of Manitobans said they cycle on busy streets compared to the national average of 20 per cent.

Also of note, 24 per cent of cyclists admitted to texting while biking.
