Okanagan Tattoo Show creates a buzz

The annual Okanagan Tattoo Show wrapped up its fourth year in a new and bigger venue.

“The response from the tattoo shops and the tattoo community has been overwhelming,” Okanagan Tattoo Show organizer Terence Smith said. “We had a waiting list that was almost three years long.”

Moving from the Parkinson Rec Centre to the Kelowna curling club allowed the show to bring in 25 more tattoo artists this year, including the winner of last season’s Ink Master television series, Dave Kruseman and his apprentice Duffy.

“It was very exciting for us to make that connection and bring them up,” Smith said.

Kruseman said he was impressed with the Okanagan.

“This is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever been to,” Kruseman said. “I think it’s very cool. I think they have a wonderful tattoo scene here and tons of amazing tattooers so it’s really cool.”
