WINNIPEG — A cold front swept through southern Manitoba Monday, and it brought along high winds, rain and hail to many parts of the province.
Much of the storm activity began late afternoon and hit Winnipeg around 6 p.m., when Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning.

Hail the size of golf balls were reported in Deloraine, Cartwright, Anola and St. Genvieve. In Winnipeg loonie size hail was reported.
A number of areas also reported power outages due to downed trees and power lines.
Storm spotters witnessed funnel clouds in a few locations – but there were no reports of any touching down.
Environment Canada warns of a risk of a thunderstorm later Tuesday afternoon as humidex levels reach close to 30 C.
Showers could also move through the city later this evening with more storm activity possible.
We’ll see more sunshine on Wednesday then back to showers as we head into the weekend.
