Mounties were involved in a high-speed pursuit in Surrey overnight after a man allegedly sped away from a routine traffic stop.
RCMP said their Air 1 helicopter tracked the suspect’s vehicle and officers then laid down spike belts at the intersection of 150 Street and 112 Avenue.

The suspect continued to drive more than six blocks on two flat tires before he abandoned the vehicle and ran into a wooded area. With the help of a dog team, he was tracked down and arrested.
Police said no one was injured in the pursuit.
