Saskatoon places 3rd in Amazon list for Canadian cities that love reading

Saskatoon still remains as one of the most well-read cities in Canada, according to a new Amazon.ca list. File / Global News

When it comes to reading, people in Saskatoon enjoy a good book. Amazon.ca released its fourth annual top 20 list of Canadian Cities that Love to Read on Tuesday and Saskatoon was ranked third in the country.

The Bridge City has placed third in the three previous top 20 lists.

According to Amazon, the top 11 cities did not change from 2015.

Saskatoon readers bought the most non-fiction and sci-fi books as well as books by Canadian authors.

Regina readers, who placed fifth in the  ranking, purchased the most romance novels.

The list was compiled using Amazon.ca book sales from May 2015 to May 2016 on a per capita basis in cities with over 100,000 residents.
