Toronto-based non-profit group GlobalMedic is packing up and delivering 2,000 hygiene kits to those affected by the wildfires in Fort McMurray on Thursday.

More than a dozen volunteers crowded the organization’s west-end Toronto warehouse to pack up individual bags with toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and face towels.

Organizers say the supplies will be flown to Alberta and distributed by volunteers to those in need.

The delivery comes as evacuees were forced out of their emergency shelter in Anzac late Wednesday night due to changing weather patterns.

No injuries have been reported after more than 80,000 people were ordered to flee the community on Tuesday.

Alberta Premier Rachel Notley subsequently declared a state of emergency on Wednesday.
