Celebration of life held for Manitoba teen fatally hit by train

WINNIPEG — A celebration of life is being held for a 15-year-old Manitoba girl who died weeks after being hit by a train earlier this year.

On Jan. 10, Taylor Piskor, 15, and her father, Peter, were driving home from her hockey game when their truck was hit by a train just minutes from home.

Piskor’s father sustained injuries to his back and needed surgery for a broken arm. Piskor had extensive injuries and was in a coma for weeks. She passed away on March 3.

According to a GoFundMe page, Piskor will be honoured at the Oak Bluff Recreation Centre at 4 p.m.

“To honour Taylor and her passion for hockey the family thought it would be nice if the kids wore their hockey jerseys to her celebration,” wrote a friend on the page.
