EDMONTON- A 27-year-old Edmonton man is facing several charges after allegedly trying to break into two homes, police said Saturday.
In the first case, the homeowner found the suspected thief in his garage loading tools into the homeowner’s vehicle. When confronted, the suspect tried to steal his vehicle and drive away, narrowly missing the homeowner as he drove out of the garage.
Police received a report the stolen vehicle had been spotted in a residential area being driven at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was then abandoned in the middle of the road and a man was seen running into a nearby house.
The suspect then broke into a second home. After taking items from that residence, the man fled on foot. Police Dog Services helped locate him.
Both incidents happened Friday evening, during the supper hour.
27-old Callum MacPherson of Edmonton is facing several charges including two counts of break and enter, theft of a motor vehicle, theft under $5,000 and resisting arrest.
