WINNIPEG – Environment Canada has issued a blizzard warning for Winnipeg and surrounding areas.

A system crossing southern Manitoba early Sunday morning is expected to bring snow and strong winds of around 60-80 km/h which at times could gust higher.

The warning says visibility will be near zero for much of the day and travel is expected to be hazardous.

Total snowfall amounts will range from a few centimetres in  the southwest part of the province to 10 or more cm east of Lake Winnipeg.
