WINNIPEG — A woman was rescued after hanging from a third floor window late Monday night. A fire tore through a rooming house in the city’s Centennial area.
Just after 11:00 p.m., fire crews were called to a blaze at 364 Elgin Avenue.
Fire officials said eight people were able to get out of the building safely. But one woman was hanging from a third floor window, and crews had to use a ladder to rescue her.
Three people, including the woman, were taken to hospital. It’s not know what condition they are in.
Police said the fire is suspicious and the arson unit is investigating.
Police also said damage estimate is around $100,000.
