Premier Brian Gallant hopes to forge trade links with EU while in Paris

PARIS – New Brunswick’s premier says he will try to forge new trade links and spur economic growth while he’s in Paris this week.

Brian Gallant will address the Chamber of Commerce France-Canada on potential trade opportunities between the province and the European Union.

The chamber was founded in 1956 to foster commercial and industrial exchanges between the two countries.

Gallant says the Canada-European Trade Agreement should allow France and New Brunswick to collaborate on increasing trade.

He is in Paris for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The two-week conference is aimed at completing a binding framework for post-2020 emissions reductions.
