REGINA – A string of garage fires in Regina has prompted the Regina Fire Department to issue a warning to residents.
Two garage fires occurred Friday night in the 200 block of Halifax street and St. John street.
Fire crews said a third fire occurred overnight but did not engulf a garage due to a neighbour spotting the fire.
In the past week, there have been six garage fires in the city. The Regina Police Service has been notified and continue to investigate.
The Regina Fire Department is urging residents, especially those in the downtown area to secure garbage roll-out bins on their property and to keep them away from structures.
Anyone that sees anything suspicious or has any information is asked to call either RPS or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
