Woman in critical condition after rollover on Sherbrooke

MONTREAL – Police are investigating after a 20-year-old woman was critically injured in a car crash Saturday morning in Mercier- Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

Police received a 911 call at 4:20 a.m. reporting a collision between two vehicles at the corner of Sherbrooke Street East and du Trianon Street.

According to police, the woman was heading east on Sherbrooke Street when she suddenly lost control of her car.

The car hit the median, flipped over and crashed into a tow truck that was stopped at a red light on the opposite side of Sherbrooke Street.

She was taken to hospital in critical condition but her status has been upgraded to stable.

The westbound lanes of Sherbrooke Street, at the corner of Trianon remain closed as collision experts investigate.

Montreal police said that blood samples were requested to determine whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
