On the Road: Grey Cup 2015 blog

Whether it’s back home in Edmonton or here in Winnipeg, to most fans there is no doubt that the Edmonton Eskimos will win the 103rd Grey Cup.

So we decided to go to the expert. Who better to share his insight than former Eskimos broadcaster and media legend Bryan Hall.  He’s been going to Grey Cup’s since 1956!

He’s probably the biggest Eskimos fan in the world but he’s also a realist and thinks it’ll be a lot closer than what people think.

With that said – to no one’s surprise – Hallsy is going with the Green and Gold for Sunday’s tilt.

Grey Cup Festivals are in full swing and I’ve got to say, it has this entire city buzzing.

You should see the look on kids’ faces as they take part in interactive experiences and get a chance to meet different players.

Organizers say the whole theme of the Grey Cup is “You Belong Here” and that’s the feeling many visitors will take home with them.

And oh yeah … the Grey Cup has been making the rounds. It was in the spotlight at the Edmonton Eskimos luncheon Thursday.

While a number of media members, myself included, and volunteers took pictures and selfies with the trophy – the players were as far from it as they could be.

They want nothing to do with the trophy until it’s official theirs… which could very well happen on Sunday night at Investors Group Field.

Friday, we’ll be up bright and early as CFL Commissioner Jeffrey Orridge holds his annual State of the League address.

There’s also Eskimos practice in the afternoon. As always, we’ll have you covered!
