KELOWNA–Winter is officially on it’s way.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the North Okanagan, and special weather statement for the entire Okanagan.

In the North Okanagan, snow is expected to start falling overnight and continue on Monday.

The warning says up to 20 cm of snow will fall over the Arrow Slocan region, 15 cm over West Columbia, and 10 cm over Shuswap, North Thompson and Northern Okanagan. The snow will continue through Monday and taper off by Tuesday.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

The weather statement cautions that the first Arctic outbreak of the season will bring Arctic air, blowing snow and difficult winter driving conditions to the Southern Interior of British Columbia beginning Monday.
