TORONTO — The City of Toronto has issued a $2,000 invoice to developer Talon International Inc. over costs associated with disruptions from an unstable spire discovered on top of the Trump Tower in August.

For two days, Bay Street between Richmond and King Streets, and Adelaide Street West, from Yonge Street to just west of Bay Street, were closed over concern of an unstable antenna on top of the Trump Tower.

A report released on Friday outlined the details of the incident and concluded that engineers identified there was no immediate safety risk.

“The results of this investigation determine that city officials acted in the best interest of the public,” said Tory’s spokesperson, Amanda Galbraith.

“The City of Toronto has also invoiced Talon International for the staffing costs that were incurred in relation to the road closure. The Mayor will be urging the Toronto Police to do the same so the responsible parties are held to account to the full extent of the law.”
