HALIFAX – After four days and nights of extensive searching, searchers have located the body of Wayne Baker Thursday morning not far from his home.
The body of Baker was found by searchers in Goose Lake, in the water close to shore. RCMP still don’t know how long Baker was in the water, or how he ended up there, but they don’t suspect any foul play.
Thursday was the fourth day of the search around West Jeddore that had searchers scouring a six-kilometre area of thick brush and rough terrain. Helicopters and infrared technology were brought in to assist in the search.

Baker was reported missing on Monday after he went for a walk in the woods early Sunday morning and didn’t return home.
Despite the outcome, search and rescue personnel say they were successful in that they were able to bring closure to Baker’s family.
“We’ve been on searches where we haven’t been able to do that, so yeah from that standpoint,” said Tony Rodgers with Halifax Search and Rescue.

An autopsy is expected in the coming days.
