BC Hydro's planned outage has Vancouver businesses seeing red. Global News

KELOWNA — Power has been restored to thousands of B.C. Hydro customers in West Kelowna after an outage that lasted almost 2 hours Saturday morning.

According to B.C. Hydro’s website, 2827 customers were affected by the outage; the power went out around 6:40 a.m. and was restored around 8:20 a.m.

“Two wires got entangled, we don’t know why, it may have been the wind but we aren’t sure,” says Dag Sharman with B.C. Hydro. “Our crews untangled them safely, making sure everything was safe before putting the power back on around 8:18 a.m.”

The affected areas are east of Highway 97, north of Boucherie Road and South-West of Westside Road.
