After years of waiting, Facebook users may soon finally get a “dislike” button.
“People have asked about the ‘dislike’ button for many years, and probably hundreds of people have asked about this, and today is a special day because today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it, and are very close to shipping a test of it,” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed Tuesday.
Although Zuckerberg noted that the button wouldn’t be meant as a way for users to “downvote” their friends posts – but rather a way to express empathy towards more somber posts – it’s a big move for users who have long begged the social network for a “like” alternative.

But why stop there? Here are five other buttons we think Facebook users might benefit from:
The “Respectfully Disagree” button
The “Overwhelming Indifference” button
The “Schmuck” button
The “Less-this-more-cats” button
The “Shrug” button
BONUS: The “Meh” button
We think this one might prove quite popular.
