“When you look at the demands Mayor Coderre is making, it’s what we are proposing and what we intend to defend in Ottawa,” said Duceppe.

He is the third leader to meet with Coderre so far, following Liberal leader Justin Trudeau and Green Party leader Elizabeth May.

NDP leader Thomas Mulcair is expected to be next to meet with Coderre to discuss Montreal’s priorities in the lead up to the federal election.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper is the only party leader who didn’t respond to the invitation.
