Peachland fire gets very close to homes

PEACHLAND — A small blaze tore through a grassy hillside in Peachland Monday afternoon just above Renfrew Road.

Officials say the fire, which burned just meters from three homes, is likely human-caused.

Thanks to fast-acting fire crews, the flames didn’t reach any of the homes.

The fire was spot size, but burning fairly aggressively.

Crews contained the fire in just 20 minutes.
