WINNIPEG — Manitoba Hydro will be shutting down power to a number of communities on the east side of Lake Winnipeg for up to 12 hours at a time.
The outages are planned for August 25, August 27 and September 1 and will affect the following communities: Loon Straits, Bloodvein, Princess Harbour, Berens River, Little Grand Rapids and Pauingassi. Power will be shut off on those days beginning at 6:30 a.m.
Manitoba Hydro said in a news release on Friday that the outages are needed to relocate hydro poles near the all-weather road being constructed along the east side of Lake Winnipeg.
