Complaint made to Saskatoon police over anti-abortion pamphlet

Saskatoon man files complaint with police, calls graphic anti-abortion pamphlet “disturbing.”. File / Global News

SASKATOON – The recent distribution of graphic anti-abortion pamphlets in Saskatoon has prompted one man to take action. Sickened by the pamphlet depicting aborted fetuses, Rob Rudachyk filed a complaint with police Friday morning.

The father of two young children said the disturbing images on the pamphlets have no place in the community.

“I’m hoping that through my actions, I can convince other people who are just as offended as I am to come down and do the same thing so we can put the pressure on the police to do something about this,” said Rudachyk.

Rudachyk has tried contacting those behind the campaign but said he hasn’t received a response.

Saskatoon police have received a number of calls and complaints about the pamphlets and have since received a legal opinion.

Officials say although images in the pamphlet may be offensive, they are non-criminal in nature and no investigation will be made into any complaints.

The pamphlets are being distributed by the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform. The group told Global News they want to draw attention to Justin Trudeau’s pro-choice proclamation and identified Saskatoon-West as a key political riding in deciding where to distribute the pamphlets.
